1. Yogurt, Honey, Lemon Juice, Almonds, Turmeric Skin Lightening Cream: Almonds, lemon juice, and turmeric powder are some of the most effective natural skin-lightening agents. They have been used since ancient times because of their natural bleaching and brightening capabilities. In this recipe they are combined with the nourishing and moisturizing properties of yogurt and honey. The outcome is an amazing homemade skin whitening night cream that not only lightens, but also boosts the overall health and condition of your skin.
You will need:
(i) Yogurt / Curd: 1 ½ cup (plain, unflavored, unsweetened)
(ii) Honey: 1 teaspoon, organic
(iii) Lemon juice: 2 tablespoon, freshly squeezed
(iv) Sweet almonds: 4
(v) Turmeric powder: A pinch
Method:
(i) Crush the almonds in a food processor, until you get smooth, fine powder. Keep a watch as you need them in powder form, so don’t process them for too long as that would turn them into almond butter. Alternatively, you may buy a pack of pre-crushed almonds, labeled as “almond flour,” or “almond meal,” in case you don’t have a food processor.
(ii) Mix the almond powder with the honey, lemon juice, turmeric and yogurt in a small glass bowl. Stir the mixture well to blend all the ingredients together completely.
(iii) Transfer the cream into an airtight container and store in a refrigerator. You can use this cream up to 7 days only. Thus, make it in small batches at a time, so as to not use a contaminated product.
How To Use?
Take out the cream container from the fridge and scoop out required amount. Message gently a generous amount of this homemade skin lightener daily at night before going to bed. At night, skin goes through a recovery cycle during which hormones are released that increase blood circulation and open up pores, making it easier for cream to penetrate and be absorbed.
